Adipocytes

Found in the hypodermis, adipocytes are reserve cells programmed to store excess nutrients not used by the organism in the form of fat. Adipocytes are formed during three specific periods: the third trimester of pregnancy (depending on the eating habits of the mother), the first year of life and at the onset of puberty.
