Apocrine sweat gland

The apocrine sweat glands are found only in specific locations (the armpits, the pubic and genital areas, etc.), and their output is quite limited. They are stimulated by emotions and stress. Apocrine sweat travels along the hair shaft to the skin’s surface where hairs emerge, and can become foul-smelling when exposed to oxygen in the air and the enzymes produced by microflora.
