4 ingredients your wrinkles will hate

The 4 must-have ingredients skin experts say you should look for.

Rhamnose

A naturally-occurring vegetal sugar, the monosaccharide Rhamnose is a fundamental active ingredient of the Liftactiv Supreme range.
It is dosed at 5% in the day cream and at 10% in the Serum 10 Supreme.
Rhamnose has unique anti-aging properties on strengthening skin structure and reducing signs of aging.

Benefits to the skin: Regular use results in plumper and firmer skin, leading to a visible reduction in wrinkles. The strengthened skin structure is also more likely to be able to resist the environmental elements that can cause cutaneous aging.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic Acid has the ability to bind and retain a large amount of water molecules, which prevents the dermis from losing firmness and elasticity. The body's synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid increases when the skin is damaged: protecting and repairing fibroblasts and epithelial cells. However, the level of this naturally-occurring acid reduces as we age. Older skin has been shown to have zero hyaluronic acid in the epidermis.

Hyaluronic Acid has excellent anti-aging properties which translate into a positive effect on skin elasticity. Furthermore, acid's low level of proteins also reduces the risk of allergic reaction, making it suitable for sensitive skin.

Benefits to the skin: When integrated into a skincare formula, Hyaluronic Acid leaves the skin plumper, with visibly fewer fine lines and wrinkles and considerably soothed.

Retinol

A form of vitamin A, Retinol is not just essential for the skin, but also for healthy teeth and bones. Studies have shown that Retinol stimulates the production of polysaccharides known to retain water in the skin, and increase collagen production.

Benefits to the skin: Retinol is known for reducing the appearance of stubborn fine line and wrinkles through and also for smoothening out the skin’s surface for a soft and hydrated look.

Vitamin C

The level of vitamin C in our body decreases with age. Apart from consumption of food rich in this vitamin (found in many fruits and vegetables), topical application of vitamin C can help to provide powerful protection from antioxidants and free radicals which can cause the signs of aging.

Benefits to the skin: a great anti-oxidant ingredient, vitamin C can also help to improve the elasticity and youthfulness of our skin.

Dermatologists and pharmacists at the Vichy Laboratories continuously use their skincare expertise to create formulae containing the best of the powerful active ingredients for the Liftactiv range.

Introducing the collagen diet.

Yes, you can eat your way to boost this vital skin protein.
Collagen, the essential skin protein. The invisible support structure keeping skin firm, plump and young from the inside-out and the outside-in. The protein whose decline is regulated like a timer.  Every year, from our late twenties, skin will lose it at a rate of 1%* (1) since its production slows down. But this happens even faster if we over-eat foods that accelerate this natural 1% decline.  To find out how much the foods that pass our lips impact the collagen in our skin, read on.
